The record you only notice when you sell

Every professional intervention adds a mileage reading. A missing stretch of that history is information too.

How we work

Why we transmit on every visit

Belgian law requires a professional carrying out an intervention on a vehicle to transmit its recorded mileage to the national register. Those readings accumulate into a history, and that history is what stands behind the mileage document a seller must provide when a second-hand vehicle is sold to a private individual. The sanction for selling without that document is unusual in its severity: the sale is void. Not voidable on certain conditions, not subject to a penalty, but void, which is a consequence consumer law reserves for things the legislator wanted stopped completely. The aim is straightforward, since a continuous professional record of readings is what makes winding an odometer back impractical.

Owners generally hear that half of it and not the other. The converse is the part that touches them financially: an absence of entries is itself information, available to anyone considering buying the car later. A vehicle maintained outside the professional circuit, or by someone who does not transmit, arrives at resale with a sparse record, and a sparse record invites the obvious question about what happened during the quiet years. The answer may be entirely innocent and it will still be priced in. Transmitting at every intervention, including the small ones that seem not to matter, is therefore not an administrative courtesy to the state. It is the thing that protects the value of the vehicle for the person who owns it.

The rest of how this workshop runs follows the same instinct toward things being checkable rather than asserted. A price before the work, so that nothing arrives for the first time on an invoice. A telephone call if the job grows, made before it grows rather than after it is finished, even when that means a vehicle waits an hour for an answer. The replaced parts kept and handed over on request, which settles the one question a customer genuinely cannot verify for themselves. A written note where something found affects safety, because a verbal mention in a busy workshop is not a record. And a plain statement of limits: this is not an approved inspection centre, refrigerant work needs certification and is referred where that is not held, waste oils and tyres go through authorised channels, and the company was formed in 2023.

Our principles

Three beliefs behind the method

Transmit every time

Including the small jobs.

Call before the extra

Before, not after.

Keep the old parts

So the work is checkable.

Need it looked at?

Tell us what it is doing and we will tell you what it costs.
